Correction notice: The brochure for the Fall 1999 offering of National Electrical Code review courses (EL9610 and EL9611) incorrectly states that the courses review changes from the 1993 to the 1996 editions of the NEC.  The courses review changes from the 1996 edition to the 1999 edition of the NEC.

Gary L. Payne of Elyria, Ohio became Management Science Institute's eighth Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board (O.C.I.E.B.) approved instructor when the Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board voted to approve Gary during their 11 June 1999 session.  Congratulations Gary!

The Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board (O.C.I.E.B.) has approved nine new MSI courses for the contractor recertification program.  This brings the total number of courses to 26 that have been approved between Ohio and Michigan.  MSI now offers courses in all five certified construction trades (electrical, plumbing, hydronics, hvac, refrigeration) and all four subject areas (code, business, safety and health, technology) for the State of Ohio.

This time the change was made because of confusion with the Sylvania, Ohio post office during their move into a new building.  They forgot to move MSI along with them.  As a result, we had several weeks of no mail service while the problem was being corrected.

Five new courses have been approved by the O.C.I.E.B.

Three additional instructors approved by the O.C.I.E.B.  They are Larry Lepard (safety and health) , Tim Zimmel (business), and Shawn Simpson (business).  Congratulations Larry, Tim, and Shawn.

The State of Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services Electrical Division approved Management Science Institute as a training agency for Electrical Contractor License recertification.  Electrical contractors who are licensed in either Michigan or Ohio, or both states, are only required to take one series of courses to fulfill recertification training requirements for both states.

Management Science Institute now offers Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for all courses offered through Bowling Green State University.  This is particularly beneficial to course attendees who do not require the O.C.I.E.B. credits but who would like to have their educational efforts universally recognized.  CEU's are recognized throughout the United States.  One CEU is given for each 10 hours of class time.

Donald E. Parks became Management Science Institute's fourth Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board (O.C.I.E.B.) approved instructor when the Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board voted to approve Don during their 13 May 1997 session.  Congratulations Don!

Robert (Bob) D. Nicholson became Management Science Institute's third Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board (O.C.I.E.B.) approved instructor when the Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board voted to approve Bob during their 12 March 1997 session.  Congratulations Bob!

Richard (Rich) E. Jones became Management Science Institute's second Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board (O.C.I.E.B.) approved instructor when the Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board voted to approve Rich during their 28 February 1996 session.  Congratulations Rich!

MSI and Bowling Green State University have teamed up to offer the O.C.I.E.B. approved series of recertification continuing education courses. Combining the resources of MSI and BGSU will enable MSI and BGSU to provide the best contractor recertification continuing education program available in the State and at very competitive costs.

Course schedules for 1997 have been published.

The ENTIRE 30 hour ELECTRICAL series, and the ten hours required for PLUMBING recertification will be offered during the first series of 1997. The Business, and Safety & Health modules are also approved for all trades. If you would like to register for these courses send an e-mail request for registration forms to information@msi.ms

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have not scheduled the Hydronics, Refrigeration, or HVAC Code courses for 1997. The schedules for these courses will be published here as soon as they are available. If you are a Hydronics, Refrigeration, or HVAC certificate holder you must have one hour of continuing education in code before the end of your certificate year or you will not be able to renew your State certification. If you have any questions about the requirements for your trade you may call MSI at 419-885-2631 or leave an e-mail message to information@msi.ms. Telephone inquiries are answered by telephone if the call is local from MSI or by e-mail if it is long-distance from MSI.
